Last Semester Summary
Last semester, I had the opportunity to study English, and I would like to take this chance to reflect on my learning experience. Throughout the semester, I faced various challenges but also made significant progress.
One of the biggest challenges I encountered was comprehending and utilizing complex grammar structures. However, with consistent effort and the guidance of my teachers, I gradually improved my understanding of grammar rules and was able to incorporate them into my writing and speaking. I found that practicing grammar exercises and doing regular revisions greatly contributed to my improvement in this aspect.
Another area I focused on was expanding my vocabulary. I realized that having a wide range of vocabulary not only enhanced my ability to understand English texts but also allowed me to express my thoughts more precisely. To achieve this, I made it a habit to read English articles and books regularly, and I also started using vocabulary learning apps, which proved to be very helpful.
Speaking and listening were two skills that I particularly struggled with at the beginning of the semester. Speaking in front of others in a foreign language was intimidating, and understanding native speakers was challenging due to their fast pace and different accents. However, I actively partited in class discussions and practiced speaking with classmates, which gradually boosted my confidence. Additionally, I watched English movies and TV shows with subtitles to improve my listening skills, and I found this method to be effective.
Overall, I am satisfied with my progress in English last semester. Although there were difficulties, I faced them with determination and diligently worked on improving my weaknesses. Looking ahead, I plan to continue practicing and refining my language skills with the aim of becoming even more proficient in English.
My School Life
In the first semester of my third year in junior high, my school life has been both exciting and challenging. I have encountered various experiences and learned many valuable lessons.
Every day, I wake up early in the morning to get ready for school. After having a quick breakfast, I make my way to school, which is just a short walk away from my home. As I enter the school gates, I am greeted by the familiar faces of my friends and classmates, and we chatter and laugh as we walk together to our claooms.
Cl start promptly at 8 am, and we have a rigorous schedule of subjects to cover each day. Math, English, Chinese, science, and history are some of the core subjects that we study. My favorite subject is English because I enjoy learning new words and practicing my speaking skills. However, math poses a challenge for me, but I try my best to understand the concepts and solve the problems.
During lunch break, I usually gather with my friends in the school cafeteria. We share jokes, talk about our hobbies, and sometimes help each other with homework. It’s a happy and relaxed time where we can recharge for the afternoon cl.
In the afternoon, we continue with more cl and engage in various activities. We have physical education, music, and art lessons, which allow us to explore our interests and talents. I particularly enjoy music class because I love singing and playing musical instruments.
After school, I usually partite in an extracurricular activity. I belong to the basketball team, where I practice and play matches against other schools. Being part of a team has taught me the importance of cooperation and perseverance.
Once I am home, I dedicate some time to finish my homework, review what I learned in class, and prepare for the next day. It can be challenging and time-consuming, but I understand the importance of staying on top of my studies.
Overall, my school life in the first semester of my third year in junior high has been busy yet fulfilling. I have grown academically, socially, and emotionally. With the support of my teachers, classmates, and parents, I am confident that the rest of the school year will bring even more wonderful experiences and opportunities for growth.
